A trend amongst Boomers and Empty Nesters is to downsize from larger homes to a more manageable scaled living space. This project provided an opportunity for one such couple to get a fresh start and to be free of the onus of running a larger property. After some searching, they decided on a prime location that offered spectacular views of the Country Club Plaza area, a prime real estate area in Kansas City with great shopping, top restaurants and major museums. One additional benefit it that they find they walk more now than when they lived in their old neighborhood.
This space was imagined with a soft modern and sophisticated palette of muted pinks, grays, ivory and taupes with wood and antiqued brass finishes. All the lines on the selected furnishings and accessories echo a rounded, circular or curved profile which added to the softness and relaxed state of consciousness this executive couple wanted as they were starting to slow down their corporate pace to begin enjoying the fruits of their labor as they entered their new phase of life.
